Hanson’s fundraising blitz raises more than $1.5 million on first day; Iranian officials confirm Strait of Hormuz closed as US strikes Iran
One Nation chief of staff James Ashby has just spoken to 2GB about the party’s new “Fire the Liar” fundraising campaign, which has allegedly raised more than $1.7 million since it was launched yesterday.
“I think it’s going to go down in history. It’s well in my history books. I mean, look, it’s big. Yeah, it’s going to give us firepower and, as I said, we’re going after Labor because it’s the worst Labor government. In fact, I think it’s the worst government we’ve ever had in our political history in this country and we’re now over a trillion dollars worth of debt,” Ashby said.
He promised to use the money to bring down the Labor government.
“We’ve got to get rid of Albania and the Labor government. Not just him, there’s Chris Bowen, there’s the whole foreign ministry there. Burke needs to go to them all, every single one of them, and that’s what this money will do.”
Ben Fordham asked Ashby who came up with the “Fire the Liar” slogan. Ashby said he was watching newsreader Peta Credlin on Sky and “stole” the news from her.
“You won’t believe it, but I was talking to Peta Credlin and watching her show and I stole it from her. It doesn’t sound like a borrowed line,” Ashby said.
