Happy Days, Byron Bay – SMH Good Food app review
Head to Byron’s industrial precinct just north of the city centre, and Happy Days is one of several bold operators breaking new ground in and around the Arts and Industrial District.
Much of this has to do with the cafe’s esteemed sourdough starter, Wilma, who is the driving force behind the sourdough breads and toast topper menu. Build your own or choose from the once-secret staff menu, which is pre-loaded with combinations like avocado, local ham and sauerkraut, or goat cheese, poached egg and red pepper jam.
Sandwiches are the mainstay, Beam coffee is roasted next door (Reece and Stacey Cooper founded the coffee brand in 2020 and own Happy Days with another couple, Hamish Boller and Ebony Robins), and the venue has enough polish to make sit-down as appealing as takeaway. Happy Days? I bet.
