‘Harry and Andrew should be removed from line of succession’ – expert | Royal | News

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has shared that she believes Prince Harry and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should face the same fate in the line of succession. Harry, the king’s second son, resigned from royal duties in 2020 and has since moved to the US.
The 41-year-old actor, who lives in California with Meghan Markle and their children, is still fifth in line to the throne after Prince William and his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The disgraced Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles last year over his links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, is still eighth in line to the throne.
Andrew’s position follows Harry and Meghan’s sixth and seventh children, six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Speaking of Andrew’s fate, Ms Bond said: Mirror: “Of course Andrew should be removed from the line of succession. If you are unfit to be a prince, you are certainly unfit to be King.
“This would also remove him from his role as state counselor, which is another nonsense at the moment. It is clear that Andrew is not a suitable replacement for the King.”
He then said other non-working royals and their children should also be sacked, adding: “Personally, I think they should sack Harry and his children too [Archie and Lilibet], plus BeatriceEugenie and her children in the inherited line.
“I think it is more than enough for William and his children to be followed by Anne (moving up the line) and Edward. That is why I propose that the order of succession be changed completely.

Following their mother, Beatrice’s children, Sienna (4) and Athena (1), are in 10th and 11th place, while Eugenie’s sons, five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest, are in 13th and 14th place.
Speaking of Andrew’s grandchildren, the royal expert added: “I think this long chain of succession has become quite ridiculous. Very few people have any idea that someone called Athena Mapelli Mozzi or Ernest Brooksbank are 11th to 14th in line to the throne.”
