Harry Redknapp criticises Adam Thomas for ‘spending an awful lot of time getting very upset about everything’ as he wades into I’m A Celeb row

Harry Redknapp waded into the explosive I’m A Celebrity row between Jimmy Bullard and Adam Thomas.

The 79-year-old former football manager remained tight-lipped about the clash between campmates during last week’s chaotic live final.

Jimmy accused Adam of being ‘abusive, aggressive and scary’ after he allegedly called him the ‘C-word’ on the pre-recorded show last year.

And now, in an interview with the Daily Mail, Harry has revealed what he really thought about the ordeal as he reflected on the fight in South Africa.

‘This was a huge and pretty bad argument,’ Harry said. ‘The guy really lost his mind about Jimmy, which was a shame because they got on so well.’

Referring to the fight between Adam and David Haye, who was accused of being a ‘bully’, Harry said Adam was ‘mostly upset about everything’.

He said: ‘David seemed to be giving Adam a lot of stick, you know, for whatever reason, and Adam seemed to be spending a lot of time getting upset about the whole thing.’

Although Harry has since improved his opinion of the situation, he explained that he was unaware of much of the arguments taking place at the camp because he was not wearing his hearing aids.

‘I didn’t even hear what was really going on because I have a hearing aid,’ he said. ‘I couldn’t take them camping because there’s no place to charge them and they can only last 48 hours at most.

‘So yeah, I have to be honest, I couldn’t really hear most of the conversations going on in the camp.

‘I’m watching it on TV now. But back then I couldn’t sit there and say I was really interested in what they were talking about. That’s why it was difficult.”

Harry also touched on why ‘hunger’ had a huge impact on discussions inside and outside the camp.

The previous I’m a Celebrity winner continued: ‘I think we had an argument or two. You always get that when you get people to live together, get a little hungry, and not have food.

‘I guess these things tend to happen, but I didn’t have them. ‘I actually didn’t argue with anyone.’

During the live finale, presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly struggled to keep the situation under control as Gemma Collins and Sinitta stormed off stage in anger.

The Geordie duo gave Jimmy the opportunity to speak out after Adam allegedly called him the “C-word” in an explosive confrontation when he pulled the plug on the show at the start of last year.

Jimmy admitted that he had to leave due to personal reasons and that he would not receive his full salary if he did not perform ‘I’m a Celebrity’ on the competition.

‘Listen, Adam and you all may be mad at me and I totally threw him under the bus, I understand and I’m going to wear this,’ Jimmy said. ‘But I don’t stand for someone being abusive and aggressive and scary, I don’t stand for that.’

Inviting Ant and Dec to share their views on the matter, Jimmy said: ‘You [pointing to the hosts] We were there and you showed none of it [footage].’

“You didn’t show any of your C-bombs, that’s a freedom,” Jimmy fumed.

Ant argued: ‘The reason we haven’t released the C-bomb is because it’s unbroadcast. I was there and didn’t think it was scary. ‘I was there, Jim.’

When the man got the chance to speak he said: ‘I take full responsibility for my actions and yes, emotions were definitely running high at that moment.

‘I have nothing but love for Jimmy at that moment. I have apologized to Jimmy many times and I take everything he has said into consideration and all I can do is apologize.

‘I don’t want to show myself this way and I have never shown myself this way before or after. ‘I’m sorry Jimmy.’
