Florida will take action to designate multiple domestic and foreign organizations as terrorist groups under a new state law that goes into effect July 1 and will not allow the state’s public funds to support organizations linked to terrorism, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday. DeSantis said his administration will ask the Florida Cabinet to approve the first round of appointments under HB 1471, which creates a formal process for designating terrorist organizations under state law. The initial list includes the Muslim Brotherhood, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, Antifa, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and several transnational criminal organizations, including the Sinaloa Cartel and Tren de Aragua.
