Harvey Weinstein: Disgraced movie mogul rushed to hospital suffering heart failure

Disgraced Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein reportedly suffered heart failure and was hospitalized from prison.
Sun It was reported that the experienced producer was taken from Rikers Island prison in New York for emergency treatment after he had difficulty breathing following his pneumonia case two weeks ago. He was being held in a notorious prison last year ahead of his sentencing in September for sexual assault.
He suffered heart failure due to pneumonia. TMZ reported Sources claimed that he had difficulty breathing before being taken to Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward.
He remains in the ward, where he is placed on an IV, connected to a heart monitor and receives a course of antibiotics.
Weinstein has reportedly largely recovered but is not yet “out of the woods.”
This is the latest in Weinstein’s health scares since his incarceration amid accusations of sexual assault and misconduct.
In 2025, a bad blood test result led to another review of Bellevue Hospital, with the legal team denouncing what they described as a lack of proper medical care amid “deplorable and inhumane conditions” at the New York prison.
Last year, he was diagnosed with a form of bone marrow cancer: chronic myeloid leukemia.
The well-known producer was at the center of accusations of rape and sexual assault against some women in the entertainment industry before he was convicted and sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2020.
His conviction was overturned four years later, but a retrial in 2025 resulted in another sexual assault conviction, for which he was to be sentenced in September.
He was also sentenced to 16 years in prison after being convicted of rape and sexual assault in Los Angeles in 2022.
