Have India’s top hotel rates peaked? Operators say there’s still room, but not everyone agrees

“India is still significantly underpriced compared to Europe, North America and many Asian luxury markets,” Vikramjit Singh Oberoi, managing director and chief executive officer of EIH Ltd, which owns the Oberoi and Trident group of hotels, said in a recent earnings call. Luxury hotels around the world now charge more than $1,000 ( ₹India’s 96,000 overnight) remained well below these levels, he added.
