Hazmat warning: Residents urged to stay indoors after asbestos spill on Dalison Avenue in Wattleup

Drivers and residents in the south of Perth were called to avoid a street after asbestos.

The emergency WA warned that there was an asbestos dump around 16.30 on the Dalison Boulevard between Phillips Road and Pearse Road.

“Loose asbestos in Dalison Ave. There is no threat to lives and homes, but it will take time to clean asbestos,” he said.

Dalison was closed between Dalison Ave Phillips Road and Pearse Road, despite the allowed local traffic.

People in the region are asked to stay inside the doors and windows closed. Air conditioners should also be closed.

Drivers are asked to avoid the region, reduce speed and carefully drive.
