‘He just completely lost it’: Truth about violent I’m A Celeb clash between Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard, shock ‘kick’ claim and star taking legal action against ITV… insiders reveal what REALLY happened to KATIE HIND

I’m a Celebrity was the most anticipated moment of the All Stars series so far.
Eight months ago, during pre-taping, a massive fight was reported between two contestants: actor Adam Thomas and former football player Jimmy Bullard.
And last night, ITV finally showed this clash – the programme’s biggest to date – watched by millions.
The fight broke out following Jimmy’s decision to leave the ‘Stinky Run’ trial, in which his fellow campmates removed a series of cogs from a giant, ant-infested abacus using only their mouths, admitting they were “not in it”.
This left teammate Adam ablaze with anger, prompting the most aggressive outburst the show has ever seen, shouting at Jimmy: ‘Are you fucking?’
Seconds later he walked over to Jimmy and shouted angrily: ‘I’m covered in fucking ants in there!’
The row broke out following Jimmy Bullard’s decision to abandon the ‘Rancid Run’ trial, which left teammate Adam Thomas (left) fuming.
The man went over to Jimmy, shouting angrily: ‘I’m covered in fucking ants there!’ After telling Adam to calm down, Jimmy quipped: ‘This is pathetic.’
After telling Adam to calm down, Jimmy sneered: ‘This is pathetic.’
Meanwhile, Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt looked on, stunned by Adam’s outburst. Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly had to step in and break up the match.
Adam, a 37-year-old father of two, looked distressed as he tried to speak to the camera after the hearing.
But today I can say that ITV has only broadcast a fraction of what actually transpired. In fact, sources close to Jimmy tell me he’s still ‘seething’ over Adam’s outburst, much of which was kept secret by ITV. However, the network insists that the episode ‘demonstrates an accurate and fair representation of events’.
I was told that the network’s claims were ‘ridiculous’ and that Adam called Jimmy a ‘s***’ in scenes later cut by the broadcaster. Sources close to Jimmy, 47, also claim Adam tried to kick him, but an ITV spokesman insists he kicked ‘a door’ and not his fellow contestant.
An insider told me: ‘The guy completely lost it and turned on Jimmy. He calls him an asshole, and Jimmy believes he’s trying to kick him too.
Jimmy was done at this point and wanted to go home. He couldn’t be bothered with the trial. But since they were paired together, this meant they would both be kicked off the show if they failed, so Adam lost it for good.
‘It was shocking. Jimmy’s view is that Adam is vile, cruel and violent, but most of this was cut by ITV so viewers could not see the full extent of his behaviour.
‘Jimmy is devastated by it all, this was supposed to be an I’m A Celebrity celebration but Adam looked like he let his anger get the better of him. ‘This ruined what should have been a great experience for the whole cast.’

Sources close to Jimmy say he’s still ‘simmering’ over Adam’s outburst – much of which is being kept secret by ITV
Former Coronation Street star Ryan’s brother Jimmy and Waterloo Road star Adam have been joined by the likes of former Corrie star Beverley Callard, ex-The Only Way Is Essex’s Gemma Collins, Olympian Mo Farah and football legend Harry Redknapp for the second series of the I’m A Celeb spin-off series, which features stars who competed in previous series.
The cast were said to be excited at the prospect of returning to the jungle, albeit in South Africa and not Australia, and were trialling more junglers.
But the incident means Jimmy, who won promotion to the Premier League with his team Wigan Athletic in 2005, is now unhappy about having to attend the live final of the show. It was notably absent from the launch earlier this month, either.
If Jimmy does not take part, he faces the threat of losing 20 per cent of his appearance fee from ITV. Furious, Jimmy hired a lawyer to take over the channel and ensure he received his full salary.
‘None of this is Jimmy’s fault,’ a source close to him insists. ‘ITV has made the decision to allow Adam to return to the programme. Those around Jimmy think it’s because they feel sorry for him, which leaves him and many of those around him stunned.
‘Looks like ITV has sided with Adam over Jimmy. Maybe it’s because they see a future working with him, who knows. But to his complete surprise, Adam was allowed to continue. [on the show].’
I’m a Celebrity All Stars hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly had to intervene and break up a fight
Adam and Jimmy haven’t spoken since the fight. Those who know both men say it is unlikely the two will ever be on good terms again.
“The situation is really bad,” says one person inside the program. ‘They know each other through mutual friends, but this has now put the price on any friendship.’
From what I hear, Team Jimmy is even angrier because they believe that if Adam had treated anyone else like this, ITV would have taken immediate action against him.
But insiders say Jimmy’s ‘tough guy’ reputation means the channel has caused Adam’s behavior to slip.
‘Jimmy was furious because if he had acted that way towards anyone else, like Beverley Callard or Scarlett Moffatt, there was no way they could justify letting him back on the show,’ says my source.
‘He argued with the bosses and told them they only let him back because he stood up to him. He is completely outraged by the whole thing and has instructed a lawyer. He won’t be able to attend Friday night.”
Neither Adam nor Jimmy have spoken out about their feud but at the launch event Adam insisted he was still happy to take part but admitted he found the show’s trials much harder than his first experience on the programme.
The source added: ‘This is a real story ending, I’m A Celeb was supposed to be dramatic and engaging but the fight was actually really terrible and affected the rest of the cast. And now it looks like Adam just keeps doing it like he never did it.
‘Jimmy won’t let that lie.’
