An Alaskan man believes he will receive $750,000 for his role Killing a 19-year-old developmentally disabled woman He was sentenced to 70 years in prison.

Kayden McIntosh, 22, was sentenced Nov. 15 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the 2019 kidnapping and death of Cynthia Hoffman, according to the Alaska Department of Law.

Hoffman’s body was found two days later along the banks of the Eklutna River. He was bound with duct tape and had a gunshot wound to the back of his head.

Officials McIntosh and Brehmer Brehmer decided to kill Hoffman after being lured by Indiana man Darin Schilmiller, who offered him $9 million to kill someone and send him pictures and videos of the crime.

Ultimately, McIntosh was the one who killed Hoffman, according to the Department of Law, and he believed he would be paid for it.

Anchorage Daily News reported that prosecutors said McIntosh thought he would get $750,000 for the crime.

Brehmer and Kayden McIntosh, who were 18 and 16 at the time, took Hoffman to Thunderbird Falls, according to authorities. After McIntosh shot Hoffman, the duo taped and photographed the victim.

“[McIntosh] Judge Andrew Peterson said he had shown no real remorse and had never fully acknowledged his behaviour. “This was not an impulsive act. This was a planned, premeditated act.”

Multiple people have been charged in connection with Hoffman’s death.

Brehmer was sentenced to 99 years in prison for his role in the murder in 2024. Schilmiller was also sentenced to 99 years in prison after pleading guilty to solicitation of murder.

Another man, Caleb Leyland, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Two other people were also accused of being juveniles, according to the court. Anchorage Daily News.

Hoffman’s father, Timothy, said his daughter had developmental disabilities and considered Brehmer her best friend, the newspaper reported.

Timothy Hoffman He died in June 2024 after losing control of his motorcycle during a ceremony commemorating the fifth anniversary of his daughter’s death, according to Alaska State Police.
