Health Minister orders inquiry into KMCSL obtaining corporate membership at Thiruvananthapuram Tennis Club

Health Minister K. Muraleedharan on Sunday, July 19, 2026, initiated an investigation into the circumstances under which Kerala Medical Services Corporation Limited (KMSCL) obtained corporate membership in Thiruvananthapuram Tennis Club using public money.
Principal Secretary, Health Department has been directed to conduct an urgent inquiry based on media reports that Rs 19.13 lakh was spent on membership and related expenses.
The investigation is based on the assessment that such actions constitute a serious misuse of public money. The circumstances under which KMSCL achieved corporate membership, details of all financial transactions made for membership and related expenses, as well as the officials who took the decision will be investigated.
The instruction is to submit a detailed report containing further steps to be taken on the issue within two weeks. Mr. Muraleedharan said that once those responsible are identified in the investigation, strict measures will be taken against those responsible for misusing public money.
