Heart-stopping moment brave cops rescue woman dangling from the roof of NYC skyscraper caught on bodycam

Shocking police body camera footage captured the heartbreaking moment brave cops rescued a woman sitting on the edge of a skyscraper in New York City.
New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers were called to the Avalon Willoughby Square building in downtown Brooklyn around 1:30 p.m. Thursday about a distraught woman hanging from the top of the high-rise.
After climbing the 58-story skyscraper, a male and female NYPD officer found the emotional 41-year-old woman on the ledge and immediately tried to talk her down.
‘Your Majesty? Hello lady. “Don’t do it, please don’t do it, ma’am,” the male police officer said to the woman, whose identity was withheld in the police video.
The woman, who was able to climb more than half of the building, was heard sobbing when officers asked her name.
A police officer asked him: ‘What’s going on?’ she replied through tears before asking.
‘Tell my mom and dad I love them,’ said the tearful woman as her dress fluttered in the wind.
The male police officer immediately replied, ‘Please don’t do it, we care about you.’ ‘Listen, we care about you, we don’t want to see you hurt yourself, okay?’

While her dress and long brunette hair were waving in the wind, the crying woman said, “Tell my mom and dad I love them.”
A male police officer remained with the woman the entire time and held her hand while speaking to her.
The distressed woman then repeated the same thing before police asked if they could approach her.
After she agreed, the officer immediately ran up to her, held her hand, and said: ‘Listen, we care about you.
‘We don’t want you to hurt yourself, okay? We don’t want you to hurt yourself, okay?’
‘Listen, whatever you’re going through, we can fix it. We can try to fix this, okay?’ He added while continuing to reassure the woman.
He grabbed the officer’s hands forcefully before answering: ‘Take me to the hospital.’
Before the camera angle changed, the male police officer showed the officer consoling him by saying, “Yes, we will take you to the hospital.”
‘I’m sure, we can do whatever you want, okay? “Anything’s better than this,” the officer said, crouching down and making eye contact with her through the Plexiglas while holding her hand.
“Please, please let me help you,” he said as the footage turned to members of the Emergency Service Unit heading upstairs with rescue equipment.
The teams arriving at the scene tied a rope and carabiners to the first responders, and the team immediately ran to the woman.
While the police who arrived at the scene tried to calm the 41-year-old woman, Emergency Service officers ran upstairs to save the woman.
Once she was tied to ropes and carabiners, first responders climbed onto the ledge with her and spoke to the emotional woman.
The first responder quickly lifted himself over the tall glass before speaking to the distressed woman.
He looked at her and said: ‘Hey, I’m here now, okay? Listen, I’m here now, okay? I said I would help you, right? I told you that, didn’t I?’
The woman continued to cry as she held the NYPD officer’s hand through the gap in the glass.
‘Listen to me, we’ll do this together, okay? “We can sit here for 10 minutes, we can sit here for half an hour,” the EMS attendant said.
‘Look into my eyes, okay? I want to make sure you’re safe and okay. Like I said, whatever you’re going through, okay, I want to help you. “I will help you personally,” he added.
The savior then reached out his hand, causing the woman to catch him.
‘Okay, can we go back?’ he asked her.
He replied: ‘No! Not yet.’
Ok no problem. Hey, listen, I have you… Trust me, believe me, I have you. ‘We’ll do this together,’ he said, before cracking a lighthearted joke in an apparent attempt to make her feel more at ease.
“Listen, look where we’re coming from,” he said, pointing at the sunny New York City skyline.
Later, as the two of them sat many floors up, she held his hand.
After he agreed to step over the plexiglass, a group of police officers helped him to safety.
‘We have the best view in the city, okay? And here we are together.’
Another officer then wrapped his arms around the woman’s back while the person holding her hand helped her to her feet.
A group of police officers then helped him get to the other side of the glass and brought him to safety.
NYPD praised everyone involved for their lifesaving efforts that day.
“Heroism and heart from NY’s Finest,” the agency wrote on social media.
‘When a woman sat on the edge of a high-rise building in Brooklyn, our officers responded immediately, using their training to save the woman’s life.
‘This is what it takes to protect and serve.’
