Heartbreak as unborn baby dies after boyfriend ‘assaulted pregnant girlfriend’ | World | News

The unborn baby died after her boyfriend allegedly attacked his pregnant partner. Police were called to Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, after reports of a domestic assault at a house in the city.

Officers discovered a pregnant woman accusing her partner of assault. Arnold Noe Santos Deras, 21, was taken into custody for Assault on a Female, Misdemeanor Domestic Violence, and Battery on an Unborn Child.

The Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner later notified detectives that the woman gave birth to a stillborn fetus at 15 weeks.

Her boyfriend is currently charged with the following crimes: breaking and entering and assault on a female, misdemeanor domestic violence, battery on an unborn child, assault by strangulation, and murder of an unborn child.

The police investigation is still ongoing.
