Heavy rain leaves houses flooded in Guntur’s Murikipeta; officials take up relief work

After the heavy rain seen on Wednesday, many houses in the Low Murikipeta region of Gundur City, led to emergency aid by the Municipal Company (GMC) officials on Thursday morning.

GMC officials dealt with machines to relieve all the rapes throughout the drainage systems to clean the silts in drainage and provide free water flow.

Municipal commissioner Puli Srinivasulu, which controls the locality, interacted with the affected inhabitants. He personally supervised them from the support of GMC to provide drinking water and food and the abolition of evacuation rape.

Residents were told to report any problems to the GMC call center 0863-2345103.

From 120 houses in Murikipeta, after a large drainage, it was about 50 flooded.

Mr. Srinivasulu said that the affected families refused to move to the aid centers, so the GMC took on the task of providing lunch and dinner until the situation recovered.

The floods tied to excessive rain with drainage overflow, worsened with rape and low level of the area. The Minister said that a large grille will be built towards the Chillakaluripet Road to soon solve the problem.

Although the internal roads in Murikipeta have already been approved, the new drainage works will offer a permanent solution.

During the past year, filling and rape lifting, he said he had prevented large -scale damage throughout the city.

GMC deployed seven soils and tractors to clean the rape and direct rainwater to drainage. The pumps were used for water recovery and sandbags were placed to stop further entrances to the houses.

Local companies and officials from public health, city planning and engineering departments coordinated the aid activities.
