Henry Nowak’s killer denies ‘hoard of weapons’ in family home | UK | News

Henry Nowak’s killer has denied a gun stockpile allegedly found in his family’s home. Vickrum Digwa pleaded not guilty along with his father and brother in Southampton Magistrates’ Court today.
District Judge Henry Gordon set the trial date for September 27, 2027, with a case management hearing on June 4, 2027. The 23-year-old, who is currently serving a 21-year prison sentence for the cold-blooded murder of Henry Nowak, now faces seven charges of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place. The alleged weapons include three machetes, 37 swords, three ninja swords, two light knives or gravity knives, eight brass knuckles, an extendable baton and a manriki-gusari.
The convicted murderer appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court via video link from HMP Frankland. While his father Moga Singh (52) and brother Gurpreet Digwa (27) are accused of the same charges, Gurpreet faces four more charges.
Possession of a prohibited weapon – air gun in a public place
Possession of an ax in a public place
Having a Kirpan in a public place
The crimes all date back to December 4, 2025, the day after University of Southampton student Henry was murdered.
When the police arrived, Digwa lied to the police and accused the teenager of racism. A three-minute police body-worn video was released showing Mr Nowak, of Chafford Hundred, Essex, being handcuffed.
Mr. Nowak was heard repeatedly telling officers that he had been stabbed, to which an officer responded, “I don’t think so, mate,” moments before passing out. He tragically died an hour after the video was shot.
The shocking incident sparked outrage from the public and politicians and an IOPC investigation into Hampshire Police was launched.
Henry’s father Mark branded the treatment of his son “degrading” and “inhumane”. He added: “Henry did not die with dignity. He did not die with the care he deserved. He lost consciousness before anyone believed him.”
