Woman opens £16 bag of Mini Eggs and is ‘gobsmacked’ by surprise | Weird | News

A mum expressed her surprise when she opened a large pack of Cadbury Mini Eggs this Easter. Emily Marriott, 37, runs family business Dribble Cakes in Dronfield and had purchased the 1kg bag to decorate her cakes and chocolate creations. However, when he reached the living varieties inside, he was completely amazed by the contents.
A photo shared by Emily reveals the bag is almost entirely filled with white, spotless Mini Eggs. “There were four purple and six pink [in the bag] and it’s not the first time,” Emily said. She explained that the majority of her bags contain predominantly white eggs, but this one was “over the top.” “I was more stunned than anything,” she added.
Mum-of-one Emily, from Chesterfield, is buying up to four 1kg bags a week in preparation for Easter. The prevalence of white eggs could pose a problem for her business because she only uses the colored variety to decorate her chocolate cakes.
“This bag of mini eggs will be used, but I still had to buy more mini eggs because of the coloring,” she said. “People want colorful ones. When I decorate something, I want to use all colors. If I decorate everything completely white, it changes the look and dynamic of the entire bakery.”
Emily also pointed out the practical inconveniences of paying high prices for sweets. “I wrote in my post, ‘what a waste.’ It’s not exactly a waste, but it is a business annoyance that I went out and bought up all my Easter stock last week. [and had to buy more].
“It’s a pain for us as a business. People have suggested white people should die, but I’m not going to do that. Why would you do anything if you’re paying £16 for something?”
He stated that this problem was not specific to him. “I always have a quarter bag of white eggs left over. I’ve seen lots of other people post saying they found their mini eggs to be all white. You don’t get the mix of colors. When I opened this bag I thought ‘oh my god’.”
Following her online post about the discovery, social media users revealed they had encountered similar experiences. One bakery said: “We must have taken all your yellow ones”, while another suggested: “Definitely report it to Cadbury, hopefully you’ll get a free bag.” Other comments included: “There’s a bag full of yellow ones” and “I opened a bag the other day and there were a bunch of white ones in there.”
A spokesperson for Mondelēz International, which owns Cadbury, said: “Our Cadbury Mini Eggs contain a mix of four colored shells. Shells may appear in different proportions in individual packs due to the manufacturing process, but the total volume of Mini Eggs remains the same.”
