Hezbollah and Iran have launched a coordinated attack strategy, a national security expert claimed on Tuesday, as reports emerged that deadly cluster munitions had hit Israel in synchronized attacks.
The developments emerged on the 11th day of Operations Epic Rage and Roaring Lion, a joint US-Israeli operation targeting Iran, and signaled a potential escalation in the widening regional conflict.
“Hezbollah is fully involved in the war and it appears they are now very well coordinated with Iran,” said Kobi Michael, a senior researcher on the research team. Institute for National Security Studies and Misgav Institutehe told Fox News Digital while speaking from the bomb shelter near Tel Aviv.
“Most of Hezbollah’s rockets and drones are launched simultaneously with Iranian missiles,” he said.

Israel confirmed on Tuesday that Iran had fired a cluster bomb, adding a complex and deadly challenge to Israel’s expanded air defenses. Associated Press reported.
The warheads exploded at high altitudes, scattering dozens of small bomblets over a wide area. Smaller bombs, which resemble orange fireballs at night, are difficult to capture and have proven lethal.
Fox News correspondent Nate Foy also said that despite Israel’s strong air defense, defense is difficult because half of the missiles are cluster bombs.
“Iran’s use of cluster missiles and their intentional targeting of civilians and civilian facilities should be considered the use of unconventional weapons, and the American-Israeli response should be appropriate,” Michael insisted.
The weapons, banned by more than 120 countries under the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions, are widely condemned for their broad, indiscriminate effects and catastrophic consequences, often to civilians.

Michael said Reuters Hezbollah has learned lessons from its last war with Israel as it prepares for a possible full-scale Israeli invasion and a protracted conflict, he said.
Sources claimed that the group had returned to its roots in the guerrilla war in Southern Lebanon.
“Fighters from the Iran-backed group, operating in small units, avoid using communications devices that could pose a risk of Israeli eavesdropping and ration the use of key anti-tank rockets when engaging Israeli troops,” said sources familiar with Hezbollah’s military activities.
Michael also said that “the north of the country, towards the Haifa area, is under heavy bombardment.”

“Due to Hezbollah and Iran’s deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian facilities, Israeli citizens are forced to spend most of their time in shelter rooms,” he said.
“Tel Aviv is still in an emergency routine; the sirens are going on and many people are spending a lot of time in bomb shelters.” “Israel is a small country and will not be able to continue to contain this kind of asymmetry and this kind of war of attrition,” he added.
As of Tuesday night local time, the IDF announced that it had launched a wave of air strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
This came after the military reiterated its warning to evacuate the area known as Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold.

Reuters sources also claimed that most of Hezbollah’s ground fighting has so far been concentrated near the Lebanese town of Khiyam, located at the intersection of the Israeli and Syrian border.
This is one of the areas where Hezbollah believes any Israeli ground offensive could begin. It was stated that Hezbollah’s elite Radwan warriors, who withdrew from the south after the ceasefire in 2024, also returned to the region.

“Israel will undoubtedly take control of a large area in southern Lebanon, from the international border to the Litani River, in order to create a security buffer zone,” Michael said.
“This will prevent Hezbollah from attacking Israeli villages and towns in the north of the country and will intensify attacks against Hezbollah throughout Lebanon,” Michael added.

Meanwhile, an Israeli military official said Tuesday, speaking anonymously in accordance with army briefing rules, that nearly half of the missiles Iran has fired at Israel are now cluster bombs, the Associated Press reported.
