MEA Rejects Claim US Using Indian Ports for Iran Strikes

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has rejected allegations that the US is using Indian ports to launch attacks on Iran, calling them “fake and false”.
The response came after former US Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor made this claim during an interview with US-based One America News Network (OAN).
In the interview, Macgregor suggested that the US relied on Indian naval bases after damaging its own facilities. “All our bases have been destroyed. Our port facilities have been destroyed. We’re actually having to retreat to India and Indian ports, which is not ideal; that’s what the navy is saying.”
Rejecting the claim, MEA’s FactCheck unit said that the rumors circulating on social media were unfounded and fabricated.
“The claims are fake and false. We warn against such false and fabricated comments,” MEA FactCheck account said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, India expressed concern over the escalating conflict in West Asia and urged all parties to avoid further tensions. New Delhi called on relevant parties to act with restraint and prioritize the safety of civilians at a time when tensions in the region are increasing.
