Supreme Court defers Vodafone Idea’s ₹9,450-cr AGR dues plea to 13 October

The Supreme Court was postponed on Monday, an additional appeal of Vodafone IDEA LTD La9,450 CRORE request for gross income (agg) dues set by the Telecommunication Department (DOT).

Senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi appeared for the idea of Vodafone, and lawyer General Tushar Mehta represented the center. Both sides asked the court to list the issue for next Monday.

The case will now be heard on October 13th.

Last week, the Vodafone idea, before the APEKS Court, who wanted to waive interest and penalties in their agg dues, filed a modified petition, arguing that the controversial components of the fees have not yet been concluded.

The change is followed by a new petition of writing on September 8, which forces DOT’s additional request.

The idea of Vodafone argued that both sides admitted that the numbers have not yet been reconciled and concluded, and that the amount of principal could not be considered as a default or responsible for penalties until it was clearly determined.
