For the holiday season, Hobby Lobby is giving away 500,000 free copies of Lee Strobel’s “The Christmas Case: A Journalist Investigates the Identity of the Boy in the Manger,” according to the author.
Strobel himself announced the deal on his X account earlier this month.
“People send me photos of the Free Gift they received from Hobby Lobby after shopping there – my new book The Case for Christmas! Hobby Lobby is giving away half a million free copies to customers in their stores! I pray that God uses these to point people to Him!” Strobel wrote On December 3.

On December 6, he promoted the giveaway again by posting a photo of himself in front of one of the retail giant’s stores.
“Hobby Lobby stores across the country are giving away FREE copies of my new book, The Case for Christmas, to customers as long as half a million copies remain! On Saturday, Leslie and I visited their store in Paducah, KY and met some wonderful people.” Strobel wrote.

In a comment to Fox News Digital, Strobel said Hobby Lobby first approached its publisher, Zondervan, with the idea.
“I loved this idea because the holiday tends to become commercialized and secularized, but the book explores the historical evidence of the Christmas story and sets the record straight on many misconceptions,” Strobel said.

He added that he has since received numerous emails and photos from people surprised and delighted to receive what he calls a “spiritual stocking stuffer.”
“What makes the Christmas story so inspiring is that it’s true — and I hope the book will open many eyes to why even a former atheist like me is starting to accept its historical roots,” Strobel said.
Fox News Digital has also reached out to Hobby Lobby for comment.
A former atheist, Strobel converted to Christianity in 1981 and has since written several books focused on defending the faith: “The Case for Christ,” “The Case for Faith,” “The Creator Case,” “The Case for Grace,” “The Case for Miracles,” “The Case for Heaven,” “Is God Real?” and “Seeing the Supernatural.”

“Our goal from the beginning was to honor God in everything we did. We worked hard and God delivered the results. Because God has blessed us, we considered it a great privilege to give back. We were able to give hope by supporting ministries and planting churches all over the world,” Green told Fox News in 2022.
