Holmes puts Dragons in front of Tigers in close contest

Suddenly the Dragons look sharp in attack, with Valentine Holmes pulling Adam Doueihi aside and making a break from his own half in the first set after a try, but in the final set Clint Gutherson is caught with the ball and loses it.

Another high tackle from the Tigers prop, this time a Fônia Pole over Daniel Atkinson puts St George Illawarra back into attacking position and once again he hits a six to slow the back down to win them another set.

Clint Gutherson has had a mixed day but now makes a nice pass, dummys, holds and then charges to Valentine Holmes as he slides over – but the dugout denies the try as lead runner Hamish Stewart crashes into Doueihi ahead.
