Homeowner outraged after security camera captures neighbor’s shocking actions: ‘What’s wrong with people?’

These people face a rude awakening when they realize their actions have long-lasting consequences.
a user r/tree law subreddit vented on a topic relevant to the situation between two neighbors.
The lot next to the original poster’s house originally had a few fully grown maple trees, but after they were cut down by an unauthorized company, the area was left barren.
The owner of the land hadn’t hired anyone to pick up the maples, and after talking about it a bit, OP learned that the house across the street was the culprit.
Without the trees, the OP noticed how much the sun was shining in the area and that there was no longer a natural windbreak for passersby.
Additionally, the lack of vegetation made the area look empty and unattractive to the entire neighborhood.
The Reddit user emphasized that they had lived there for 20 years and that the maples were fully grown before they arrived.
“These trees were probably 30 or 40 feet high, if not higher,” they said. “They’re all gone now, including the squirrels with nests in them. Woodpeckers don’t just show up randomly anymore.”
Apart from the disturbance to the area and the conspicuous lack of greenery in the area, cutting off such large parts of the land’s ecosystem will undoubtedly have more negative effects.
Even a single mature tree makes a significant difference in the health of the space.
Per Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies“Maples are one of the most important groups of trees planted in forests and lawns, along streets and in parks,” because they are “keystone species,” meaning they play a disproportionately large role in shaping and sustaining their ecosystems as well as increasing native species diversity.”
Without shelter, the wildlife that calls maples home will have to find it elsewhere, potentially disrupting the balance of environments in other neighbors’ yards.
Trees in particular made the neighborhood more beautiful and provided protection from adverse weather conditions for both people and animals.
Now, thanks to some tough neighbors, these trees’ years of growth have been thwarted and their environmental benefits have vanished. Meanwhile, the value of the landowner’s property probably also decreased.
Mitigating neighborhood disputes through civil discussion and understanding, especially regarding environmental concerns, is an important factor in potentially preventing complications like those detailed in the Reddit post.
Commentators were astonished by the audacity of the rival hosts. One “If it’s not your property, you can’t get access. What’s wrong with people?”
“I can’t understand how anyone has the right to cut down trees (or do anything else) on someone else’s property.” another agreed.
One He even mentioned that “in many states, there is 3 times the damage to trees removed without the consent of landowners. It is expensive to replace mature trees. Now it is 3 times more. The neighbor’s painful future awaits them.”
