City of Philadelphia may have leaked some MLB All-Stars hours before the big announcement
Philadelphia is often at the center of Fourth of July celebrations for obvious reasons, given that it is literally the birthplace of the nation. But this year the city is a bit stunned by an apparent oversight.
The MLB All-Star Game will be played at the city’s Citizens Bank Park on July 14, and the rosters will be announced Saturday evening.
But there definitely seems to be some leaks, and it’s all thanks to a series of light pole banners.

Whether it’s oiling up after the Super Bowl or breaking down All-Star rosters, do any city’s poles get as much attention as Philadelphia’s? Maybe it’s Vegas, but these are a different kind of pole.
Photos of banners around the city have appeared on social media as they make it clear that some players will definitely be heading to the Midsummer Classic.
Christ no.
You know, I don’t think you’ll see a sign for Atlanta Braves’ first baseman Matt Olson anywhere within Philadelphia city limits…unless he’s playing in the All-Star Game in the city.

Of course, some of these banners won’t shock anyone. Throwing Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes on a banner was probably a safe bet and it could hang there for months and everyone would say, “Yeah, that sounds about right.”

I’m always amazed at how things like this can happen. The guidelines seem pretty foolproof: Don’t put up the signs until July 5th.
It’s almost as if the person relaying these details did this to someone half-listening while scrolling through TikTok.

The official announcement of the All-Star rosters will be made on Saturday night at 19.30 on FOX.
