Horrifying final moments of James Handy revealed after his shock stabbing at age 81

Actor James Handy’s desperate last moments before he was stabbed to death, allegedly by his girlfriend’s son, were revealed in a forensic report.
The Top Gun: Maverick star, 81, was stabbed in the torso and suffered a ‘neck squeeze’ when Michael Gledhill, 44, allegedly attacked him outside his home in Tarzana, Los Angeles, around 9.20am on June 3.
According to a Los Angeles Medical Examiner report obtained by the Daily Mail, Handy and Gledhill got into a verbal argument outside the front porch of his girlfriend’s home before Gledhill allegedly tackled the actor and dragged him to the side of the house.
Gledhill allegedly went back into the house to grab ‘what appeared to be a knife’ before turning on Handy and stabbing him to death, according to the document.
It was alleged that while Handy was dying on the ground with a stab wound to his torso, Gledhill called 911 and said, “I am a human being, I just killed the man of sin.”
Authorities said Gledhill was arrested after he told police he was the person they were looking for. Handy was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead at 10.48am.

The actor suffered multiple traumatic injuries in the attack, including multiple rib fractures.
Security footage obtained by Fox 11 Los Angeles from a home next door showed Gledhill teetering on the sidewalk as bloody clothing lay nearby.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, but neighbors claimed Michael and Handy had been arguing throughout the night.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman charged Gledhill with one count of murder, with a special allegation that he personally used a knife, a deadly weapon.
Gledhill appeared before Judge Maria Cavalluzzi in LA County Mental Health Court in Hollywood on Tuesday for a hearing that lasted less than ten minutes.
Gledhill, standing 6 feet tall and wearing bright yellow L.A. County jail garb, entered the courtroom and muttered under his breath as he was ordered by deputies to stand behind Deputy Public Defender Robert Krauss.
Krauss noted that Geldhill’s father and stepmother were also in the audience in the courtroom, but Gledhill did not make eye contact with them.
The judge ordered Gledhill to be assigned to the California Department of State Hospitals until his mental competency is restored.
State Hospitals officials will determine in which facility he will be housed and treated, starting on August 11. Gledhill, meanwhile, will remain in LA County’s infamous Twin Towers before being transferred.
Judge Cavalluzzi ordered the involuntary medical order to remain in effect and the maximum commitment date will be extended to July 14, 2028.
As the brief hearing drew to a close, a frustrated Gledhill spoke to the judge and said: ‘I have a case pending. This is not my name. ‘I have another case.’
Judge Cavalluzi looked at the slender Gledhill and replied, ‘No problem, Mr. Gledhill. ‘We’ll see you when you come back.’

Gledhill’s attorney, Javier Trincado, said last month that he “could not assist” in his client’s defense and told the judge that the sheriff’s department did not bring Gledhill into the courtroom but did not provide a reason.
High Court Judge John H Reid ordered Gledhill to be sent to mental health court and undergo psychological assessments.
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J Hochman said Handy deserved to spend his later years with his loved ones and that the person who took his life should be held accountable.
“The life of someone who was stabbed in the chest and left to die in front of his house should not end this way,” he said in the statement.
Handy has worked as a character actor in films and television for decades, appearing in a variety of television crime procedurals.

‘I didn’t think much about it because he just talked about it casually,’ he said.
Handy fixed up the garage so his girlfriend’s son could live there, Delate said. Handy had his own house.
