Horror as teenage girl is raped by man, 37, in UK park | UK | News

Justice was served after a young girl was horrifically raped by a man she had never met in a city park in England. Travis Moore, 37, of Great West Road, Hounslow, was sentenced to 12 years and nine months behind bars at Reading Crown Court on Monday. He will be detained for nine years and nine months, the remainder to be served on licence.
Moore was convicted by a unanimous jury following a five-day trial on a rape charge at Reading Crown Court on May 5 this year, Thames Valley Police said.
The predator unleashed its terror at Slough’s most historic green space, Baylis Park – just three miles from Windsor Castle – between 11.30pm on 1 November 2025 and 1am on 2 November 2025. Moore’s teenage survivor bravely called 999 immediately after the attack.
Officers immediately responded and located Moore nearby. He was arrested on November 2, 2025, charged and arrested the next day.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Laura Bevan, of East Berkshire CID, said: “Firstly, I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case. He demonstrated tremendous courage, dignity and patience throughout the investigation and court process. It takes considerable strength to come forward to report such a traumatic crime and then support a criminal investigation and prosecution.”
“Thanks to her bravery, a dangerous criminal has been brought to justice and will no longer pose a risk to other women and girls. Violence against women and girls remains a priority for Thames Valley Police. We are committed to tackling these crimes, supporting victims and relentlessly pursuing offenders.
“I hope this sentence reassures victims that they will be heard, treated with respect and supported throughout the criminal justice process. We will always seek to bring those who commit such crimes to justice.”
Thames Valley Police is urging anyone who has been the victim of rape or sexual assault to report the crimes by calling 101 or reporting online. In an emergency, always call 999.
