Horror as US fighter jet struck by Iran as aircraft makes emergency landing | World | News

A US warplane shot down in an Iranian attack had to make an emergency landing.
CNN’s Haley Britsky reports: “A US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at a US air base in the Middle East after being hit by what is believed to be Iranian fire, two sources familiar with the matter told me.”
CENTCOM spox Capt. Tim Hawkins confirmed that an F-35 landed safely after flying a combat mission over Iran and that the pilot was in stable condition.
This marks the first time Iran has shot down an American aircraft since the war began in late February.
This also comes as the US continues to claim that its war in Iran has been successful.
Washington Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Thursday that the United States had “definitely won” and that Iran’s air defenses were “flattened.”
