Horror as woman, 18, dies after migrant drags her onto train tracks | World | News

A young woman who was dragged to the train track by a Sudanese immigrant died in a terrible attack. 18-year-old Fatemah D. was caught by 25-year-old Ariop A. in Germany and pulled in front of an oncoming train, horrifying those who saw her.
Local police said the teenager was waiting on a platform at the Wandsbek Markt subway station, part of the Hamburg U-Bahn line U1, when the stranger suddenly threw both him and himself onto the tracks. It was announced that both of them died at the scene after being hit by a train passing through the station at around 22.07 on Thursday, January 29. Eyewitnesses said the attacker was walking unsteadily on the platform before the fatal attack.
A bystander told a local media outlet that the migrant stumbled toward the victim and allegedly told him, “I’ll take you with me.” He reportedly pulled her onto the tracks just seconds later without warning.
According to investigators, there is no indication that the Sudanese man and the Iranian teenager were acquainted.
Local police said: “Based on available information, law enforcement officials have no evidence of any prior relationship between the individuals involved.”
But according to PictureAuthorities said the immigrant was arrested and released a few days before the attack.
According to media reporting, the suspect allegedly attacked police officers and was arrested last week for aggravated assault, and also has a history of aggressive and violent crime.
Local authorities confirmed that the man had previously entered Germany through a humanitarian admission program in mid-2024. He reportedly had a valid residence permit and was living in shared accommodation in Hamburg.
After the terrible attack, the German Red Cross crisis response team descended on the scene and provided psychological support to witnesses. While police worked at the station throughout the night, two bodies were removed from the station in wooden coffins. Police continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the murder.
