Horror boat crash leaves one dead near popular UK beach | UK | News

One man died, and another was lost after a destructive boat accident near the well -known Southsea Beach in Portsmouth. Emergency Services were warned shortly than 20.00 on Thursday, and Coastguard rescue teams were sent to Tipner at 8.25 o’clock from Portsmouth and at Hill Head at 20.36. A man from Emsworth in his 60s died at the scene.
His family was informed and receives support from the officers. It is reported that another man in his 60s and other than Havant is missing and leads to an ongoing search operation. A third person, a man from the West Sussex in his 50s was taken to hospital after the incident, but since then he was discharged.
During the rescue effort, a helicopter was also seen in the operation near Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Authorities say the conditions surrounding the accident are uncertain and the investigation continues.
Hampshire and Wight Isle Constabulary said in a statement: “Officers, near Tipner in Portsmouth on Thursday, August 14th, a special hard -bodied swelling boat reported less than 20.00 after a collision.
“A man in his 60s from Emsworth was pronounced as died at the scene. His family was informed and will be supported by officers.
“A man in his 50s from the West Sussex was taken to hospital, but since then he was discharged.
He continued: “To determine what happened in the first stages of an investigation, we are contacting the Naval Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB).”
Tipner is a settlement in the northwest corner of Portsmouth in Hampshire, Portsmouth.
The area, which is historically linked to the royal navy, once the navy hosts married neighborhoods and hosts a yacht club. Located near Portsmouth Port, Tipner is a popular place for boat and sea activities.
