Horror in quiet street as man, 37, dies after ‘assault’ in UK city | UK | News

A man has died following an alleged attack on a residential street in Cardiff. Police confirmed the victim, Colm Marcus Boston, 37, of Heath, died on Boxing Day, December 26.

A 51-year-old man from Mynachdy remains in custody. A 47-year-old man from Adamsdown and a 60-year-old man from Cathays were released on bail pending further investigation. Colm suffered life-threatening injuries in the alleged attack and later died at the University Hospital of Wales.

His family is supported by a family liaison officer.

Deputy Senior Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Lauren Wells, of South Wales Police, offered his “sincere condolences” to Colm’s family and thanked the community for their support.

He said in a statement: “We extend our sincere condolences to Colm’s family and friends as they come to terms with their tragic loss.

“I want to thank the community for their support of this investigation to date and continue to urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to authorities to come forward.”

South Wales Police are now appealing for anyone with CCTV and/or dashcam footage from Maindy Road, Pentyrch Street, Whitchurch Road and Cathays Terrace between 4pm and 6.30pm on Monday 22 December to come forward.
