Horror WW3 warning as Dubai and Abu Dhabi could be ‘blown up’ by Iran | World | News

A US economist is urging the UAE not to get involved in the ongoing war in the Middle East as Dubai and Abu Dhabi could be “blown up”.

Speaking to ANI, Jeffrey Sachs said the UAE has gotten itself into an “absurd mess” and continues to “double down” on its mistakes in aligning with the US and Israel.

He said: “Basically, if the UAE goes to war, Dubai and Abu Dhabi could blow up. These are resort areas. These are tourist attractions. These are not fortified missile defense sites. These are places where the rich will party and put their money. And to go into a war zone is to defeat the whole purpose of a place like Dubai.”

“With its eyes wide open, the Emirate has gotten itself into a ridiculous mess. And meanwhile, the situation continues to double down.”

Sachs also advised the UAE not to “double down on a losing proposal” and urged the country to prioritize its security.

He told ANI: “I don’t want to be misunderstood, but the naivety of announcing yesterday that we will join this effort against the evil Iranians and continue to fulfill our commitment to put trillions of dollars into the US. Come on. Enough. Protect yourself. Understand the situation. You think doubling down on a losing bid is really the right way to go forward at this point, but that’s exactly what they’re doing.”

Iran launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks in the Middle East on Tuesday; Attacks were also reported in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq. A fully loaded Kuwaiti crude oil tanker, known as the Al Salmi tanker, sparked a fire after being hit in Dubai waters on Monday, about 31 nautical miles northwest of the city.

Authorities in Dubai also confirmed that multiple explosions were heard in the city in the early hours of March 30, while violent explosions were also reported in Bahrain and the Khobar region of Saudi Arabia. Iran was also reported to have carried out a suspected attack on an electricity generation and water desalination facility in Kuwait; Loss of life and serious damage were feared.

The developments came just hours after Donald Trump warned that he was prepared to hit Iran “harder than ever” and unleash “hell” if violence continued. CNBC reported that very loud interception explosions were heard across Dubai as UAE air defenses responded to missile threats launched from Iran.

Residents across the city also reported hearing explosions as their defense systems tried to block incoming bullets.
