Hospitality and Culinary Graduates in Unprecedented Demand Globally, Say Experts at OU Session

Hyderabad: An awareness meeting was held on hotel management and culinary arts programs in colleges affiliated to Osmania University on Wednesday. The session was organized under the banner of Telangana Culinary and Hospitality Educators Association (TEACH).
Speakers highlighted that rapid growth in hospitality, tourism, food service, aviation, cruise tourism, healthcare hospitality, events, luxury retail and related sectors has seen the demand for professionally qualified hospitality graduates reach unprecedented levels both in India and internationally.
Osmania University has been offering professional degree programs in hospitality education for over three decades through its Faculty of Technology. The university offers the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and the Bachelor of Catering Technology and Culinary Arts (BCTA) through 16 affiliated colleges.
Vice Rector Prof. Kumar Molugaram said the university is constantly evolving its hospitality curriculum to meet evolving industry requirements and international benchmarks.
Sandeep Joshi, vice president of a hotels group, noted that hospitality graduates are not limited to hotel careers alone but have opportunities in luxury hotels and resorts, airlines and airport services, cruise lines and events, among others.
Chef Amey Marathe, President of Telangana Chefs Association (TCA), stated that culinary education offers opportunities far beyond traditional kitchen operations. He pointed out that talented culinary professionals are among the most sought-after talents worldwide.
