Hot weather photos as UK scorches in +30C heat and braces for roasting | UK | News

The UK is enjoying warm weather today (Saturday 23 May), with the mercury reaching 30C in some areas. Photos from across the country show people basking in the sun, some swimming, attending festivals, cycling and relaxing on the beach, while others sit in huge queues in Dover.
The UK Health Safety Agency’s (UKHSA) yellow heat health alert will be in force for the East Midlands, East of England, South East and West Midlands until 5pm on Wednesday 27 May. The yellow alert also covers the North West, North East, South West and Yorkshire and the Humber, with scorching temperatures set to last throughout the Spring Break weekend.
Forecasters predict temperatures will reach 34C on Tuesday, with London set to see its hottest May day on history. This follows the mercury hitting 38.4 degrees at Heathrow, Cambridge and Cranwell in Lincolnshire on Friday afternoon (May 22) to mark the hottest day of the year so far.
