How gunfire sparked chaos at Trump press dinner

US President Donald Trump had to be taken to a safe place by security guards after a gunman opened fire at the hotel hosting the White House correspondents’ dinner.
Those in attendance included Vice President J.D. Vance, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, and a number of high-profile politicians, diplomats and journalists.
According to US media reports, the suspect was identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, California.
Police said Allen was a guest at the Washington Hilton hotel where the dinner was held and was carrying several weapons, including a gun and knives.
A US security guard was injured and was treated in a hospital, officials said.
