Dog euthanized after fatally mauling owner Christine Kulis

It was learned that a dog that fatally mauled its owner was 39-year-old Christine Kulis.

Emergency services rushed to a home in Whyalla Stuart, about 400km from Adelaide, on Thursday afternoon following reports of an animal bite.

Ms. Kulis, who was seriously injured, was treated at the scene but died.

It was understood that the dog was euthanized shortly after the attack.

Neighbors told 7NEWS that numerous complaints have been made about dogs on the property, but it is unclear if any complaints were made regarding the dog, which was euthanized prior to the attack.
