Ranveer Singh-starrer blockbuster Dhurandhar continues its meteoric rise at the box office even as it approaches its fourth weekend since its release on December 5. The spy thriller crossed the rare Rs 600 crore mark in India in just 20 days and saw another surge on Christmas (Day 21), without being much affected by new releases. More than Rs 630 crore has currently been collected at ticket counters in India and is expected to cross the Rs 650 crore mark by this weekend.
Dhurandhar continues the attack
According to a report by Sacnilk.com, Dhurandhar earned an estimated Rs 26 billion on the third Thursday (December 25), which was a holiday for Christmas. Its solid performance comes despite a new release in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. Thursday’s shoot took Dhurandhar’s total domestic box office collection to Rs 633.5 billion. The film has already surpassed many of Bollywood’s all-time hits, including Stree 2 (earned Rs 598 crore) and Chhaava (Rs 601 crore). It also looks set to soon dethrone Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 640 crore) as the highest-grossing Hindi film. Also, Dhurandhar is on track to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the global box office.
The sequel of Dhurandhar is coming soon
Directed by Aditya Dhar (who also directed the 2019 hit Uri), Dhurandhar is an underworld epic about a complex network of criminals, informants and agents whose lives intersect in a troubled Pakistani town called Lyari. It also stars actors like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi. The film was produced by Aditya Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar through their banner B62 Studios along with Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios. The second episode of Dhurandhar will be released in March 2026, coinciding with Eid-al-Adha.
