How the Royals will keep themselves very busy as Prince Harry lands in the UK

The Royal Family intends to ‘turn off the noise’ from the ongoing saga of Prince Harry’s visit to the UK this week.

Senior members of the royal staff already have more than 29 official engagements planned in their diaries from today, when the Duke of Sussex arrives in Britain, and Saturday, when his last public appearance ends.

Many of the engagements have been planned for a long time and will see almost all senior royal staff appear on public duty.

In addition, the King will hold many private meetings and meetings not previously mentioned in the diary.

There have been concerns in royal circles recently that the constant ‘psychodrama’ surrounding the Sussexes’ ‘will they or won’t they’ family trip, which will be their first reunion in four years to Harry’s birth country, would overshadow the valuable work being undertaken by senior royals.

There are rumors that Harry “burst into tears” after learning “at the 11th hour” that the Home Office Royal and VIP Executive Committee, which decided on his police protection, had requested a review of his security.

This raised eyebrows among those familiar with the matter, who noted that the prince’s situation had not changed since he lost a court battle to have taxpayer-funded police protection reinstated.

They questioned why he would organize a high-profile and potentially costly trip to England for his family, knowing there was no guarantee that this would change.

Over the weekend, a spokesman for Harry announced that, after days of back-and-forth, he would no longer be bringing his wife Meghan and children Archie and Lilibet to London today because he felt the supplies he had been offered were not enough to ensure their safety.

The prince will hold several days of talks alone in the capital while the California-based family is on holiday at an undisclosed location on the European mainland.

However, he does not rule out the possibility of them joining him outside London later.

The prince has business in the Midlands on Friday and Saturday and plans to visit family and friends; this included visiting his late mother’s grave at the family estate Althorp in Northamptonshire.

It is not yet known whether Harry will accept the King’s invitation to stay at the royal residence this week or next.

There is no indication yet whether the couple’s children will be able to meet their paternal grandparents, whom they have not seen since 2022, when they are three and one years old.

Buckingham Palace once again refused to comment, believing that ‘discretion is the more important part of courage’ despite Sussex’s provocations.

However, there was intense disappointment as what was supposed to be a drama-free trip that allowed the King to reconnect with his son and grandchildren was turned into another Harry and Meghan-made soap opera.
