How to see Australia’s largest lake filled with water
After downloading Burger and Pintim at the hotel, I meet the Wrightsair pilot Jaiden Carter on the side for a special air tour.
A cool of 15 degrees outside, but white four -person Cessna 172 shines like a firefield in the sun in the afternoon.

After a safety briefing, wheels and rising on the clay circles and dunes made upright with gaseous grass and saltbush.
Within a few minutes, we encounter what looks like a wide inner sea in the Gulf Gulf Gulf Camp Area. Carter shares that in January and February, the record-breaking rainfall in Queensland creates a slowly rising “inner tsunami iye to Kati Thanda -lake Eyre.
Satellite photographs reveal a slow transformation: a fixed drip pools and dusty gums and apartments expand to fill and eventually swallow the Kati Thanda -lake Eyre basin 1.2 million square kilometers.
Following the flow, when I visit in July, there are indigenous birds that do not reach full numbers, but when I look at the sea bass, I can see dozens of white wings extending to the surface of the fluctuation.

Carter is flying us on Silcrete Island, a boomerang -shaped island, which resonates with white salt that will soon be full of 200,000 pelicans.
“They will be very busy with the pelicans, they cannot get up. They will have to enter the water, Cart Carter says.
Carter, who directs Cessna to Williams Creek, says that the locals are skeptical about the lake that the lake will not be eaten in 1974, but that more water pouring more water every day.
Nobody can say exactly how long the flood water will remain, but the lake may begin to shrink again in March. Until then, Carter enjoyes it as every flight has come.

“He never gets older and there is something different every time you fly, or he says.
“The position of the sun reveals new colors or waves the wind water differently. If you are lucky, you can even see the pelicans.”
