MasterChef Australia returns with a special guest on Sunday night’s episode Down Under. Channel 10 announced in April that Meghan Markle would join fellow judges Jean-Christophe Novelli, Poh Ling Yeow and Sofia Levin on the hit show. The 44-year-old actress filmed scenes for the show during her visit to Australia with Prince Harry in April. This was the couple’s first trip Down Under in eight years.
Channel 10 and Endemol Shine, the Australian network and channel behind the production, announced that the episode featuring Meghan will be broadcast on Sunday, July 26 at 19:00. [Australian time]. In the special episode, Meghan will task contestants with creating a meal fit for the Duchess by making a seasonal ingredient the focal point of their plate.
“We are welcoming someone SUPER special to the MasterChef Kitchen,” the broadcaster announced. In the footage released by the program, Poh can be seen introducing the Duchess to this season’s contestants.
In a preview of the episode aired on Sydney 10 News, she introduced her choice of ingredients, noted that the chefs had given her “a pretty big treat,” and proudly shared that her children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, were “eating Brussels sprouts.”
“This is very impressive,” Levin said.
“Food and cooking are truly a love language to me,” Markle said later in the preview. “I think it’s a great way to connect. It’s something that feels emotional and meaningful, and it’s how I show my love and affection to my friends, my family, and my kids.”
MasterChef Australia airs every Sunday to Wednesday at 19.30 [Australia time] and will be free to stream for viewers residing Down Under.
