How your bedtime may be fuelling your social media addiction

A new study is much higher at the risk of developing addiction to people with night owls than those who have previously slept on their smart phones.
Scientists have discovered that many people, who have been in the evening, show signs of loneliness or concern, use smartphones to cope emotionally and develop addictions to social media and worsen their mental health symptoms.
Researchers from Portsmouth University and Surrey University define the issue as a “vicious circle that first influences young adults in the UK.
“These young people do not use technology because these young people are available, Dr “They use it to try to relieve emotional discomfort. Tragedy is often deepening their problems.
“In the evening, young adults who are naturally more active in the evening find themselves socially synchronized, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and concern. Many of them turn to smartphones and social media to deal with, but unfortunately these vehicles can make things better, better.”
The use of a problematic smartphone is defined by a feeling of concern when it leaves the person’s phone, it necessarily controls notifications and neglects responsibilities to continue. Similarly, social media addiction is characterized by excessive and uncontrolled telephone use that disrupts daily life.
Researchers explored 407 young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 and investigated how their preferred sleep programs are related to problematic smartphone use or social media addiction. He found that loneliness and anxiety are the main causes of these associations.
Dr Wallinheimo said: “Even though we knew that night owls are more vulnerable to problematic use of technology, we did not understand why. Now we can see emotional factors – especially loneliness – play an important role.”
Previous research shows that sleep is linked to depression and other addiction behavior.
It is believed that approximately 40 percent of the students in the UK exhibited signs of social media addiction, and young women are particularly vulnerable.
The liberal democrats called for a “apocalypse cap olarak that will legally limit the time when children are allowed to be in particular -style practices.
Times He said that workers’ ministers are seriously thinking about the application of a social media usage cover for children and that they are expected to announce a change in the coming weeks.
The researchers of the study called on targeted training and support systems for young adults who do not understand how sleep models risk.
Dr Simon Evans, the columnist of the study, said: “Instead of telling young people to spend less time on their phones, we need to discuss the reasons behind their use.
“This means providing effective strategies to manage loneliness and anxiety – especially in the late evening, especially when support services are limited, and the emotions of isolation may be the most intense.”
