The clip shows that at least twenty tents in Charing Cross extend along a pavement. The camera can be seen at least two half -naked people while sleeping on the streets, on the sidewalk. The person holding the camera can be heard: “This madness. Backstreet in the center of London.

“Wow, what’s up. Crazy. This is the back streets of London, look. What’s going on.”

The blogger accused my institution in a statement that accompanies the video broadcast of London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan. “This is Charing Cross’s backstreets.

At the end of June, according to new data published by the combined household and information network (chain), London saw an increase in people living in the streets.

In general, the number of people who had to sleep rough in capital from April 2024 to March 2025 was 13.231 – 10% increase compared to the previous year. This encouraged to call for urgent action to help solve the problem of more than five times that it was in 2005.

“These figures show tragic failure at all levels to help people move away from extreme poverty and streets, Mat said Matt Dawnie, General Manager of the Crisis. “No one should have to sleep or live on the streets because there is no other place to go.”

The Mayor of London promised to end the “trauma” of people who had to sleep on the streets before they reach support. Sir Sadiq Khan provided a capital financing from the central government for an action plan aimed at terminating rough sleep until 2030.

The plan includes renewal of up to 500 empty houses and opening a new last homeless center.

“We know that the best way to end rough sleep is to stop before starting,” he said. He continued: “Therefore, we are prevented at the center of our response by expanding our network to end the homelessness centers that provide 7/24 support to those who have the most rude risk of sleep.”
