Katie Price banned from driving for seventh time after 80mph speeding ticket

Katie Price was given her seventh driving ban after police failed to respond to communications about her 80mph speeding ticket.

The 47-year-old has received driving disqualifications totaling more than six years since his first ban in 2010.

His latest legal entanglement stems from a Ford Capri registered in his name being spotted driving at 80mph on the A64 near the village of Stutton in North Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire Police sent letters to the driver’s home in West Sussex asking for his consent.

Price was later tried and convicted for failing to respond, resulting in a six-month driving ban and a legal bill in excess of £1,000.

In December 2010, the former glamor model was banned for six months after pleading guilty to a speeding charge.

He was disqualified for a year in 2012 after failing to respond to speeding tickets and was suspended for a further six months in February 2018 after he was caught speeding.

In January 2019, he appeared in court again to admit driving while disqualified, which resulted in a three-month ban.

Just a month later he was convicted by a judge of being drunk in charge of a vehicle when police observed the vehicle veering off the road and crashing into the edge of the grass.

Price claimed a mystery man was behind the wheel and left the scene before cops arrived, but the judge found his evidence “not plausible”.

Later that year, Price was found guilty of failing to disclose the name of the driver following a car crash, which led to him receiving an 18-month road ban.

And in 2021, a judge condemned Price as having “one of the worst driving records I have ever seen” as he was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence for drink driving while disqualified and uninsured.

Price had his car overturned and told the police at the scene: “I did drugs, I shouldn’t have been driving, I confess it all.”

The incident resulted in him being banned from driving for two years, as well as 100 hours of community service and up to 30 rehabilitation sessions.

“You seem to think you’re above the law,” district judge Amanda Kelly told him at the time.

In 2024 Price was fined £880 for driving without a license and without insurance in Northamptonshire, but escaped a ban for these offences.

Price’s latest conviction and disqualification was dealt with last week in the single justice procedure, a secret court process in which judges deal with criminal cases behind closed doors.

Court documents show Price was charged with speeding and failure to provide information regarding the identity of the vehicle’s driver.

The Ford Capri was caught by a speed camera on the 70mph section of the A64 at 15.03 on 15 October 2025.

He was sent a police letter about the incident on 20 October and a reminder was sent on 10 November warning him of impending criminal proceedings.

However, the police force said it had received no response to either letter.

Magistrate Claire Sagar, sitting at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday, found Price guilty of failing to respond to a police charge and ordered him to pay a £660 fine, £120 costs and a £264 victim surcharge.

Due to the confidential nature of the court process, it is not known whether Price will be given the chance to argue against another driving ban. It is also unclear whether the court knew about his previous driving record, and the records do not reveal whether he already had demerit points on his licence.

Allegation of speeding was withdrawn by police.

Author and reality TV star Price has found herself in criminal as well as civil courts in recent years as she battles bankruptcy cases.

At a hearing last October, a judge told him to reduce his “extravagant spending pattern” as it emerged that almost half of his monthly income would be paid to creditors.

Bankruptcies in 2019 and 2024 have ended, but the court order to pay off debts by February 2027 is still ongoing.

Speaking on a podcast in 2025, Price said he was now struggling to get car insurance due to past driving convictions.
