Human remains found after fatal shooting and fire in San Bruno, police say

Investigators are searching a San Bruno home fatal shot and fire Friday human remains discovered Officials said he was inside the residence.
According to the department, San Bruno police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Keefe Court around 3 p.m. During the response and subsequent investigation, the San Bruno Fire Department was also called to a residential structure fire at the same location.
Police said a 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound during the incident and was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators found human remains inside the home during a subsequent search.
Police did not say how many remains were found or whether they were linked to the shooting victim. The San Mateo County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the remains and determine the cause of death, officials said.
The San Bruno Police Department’s Investigative Services Division is leading the criminal investigation. The cause and source of the fire will be investigated separately by the San Bruno Fire Department.
