Hundreds gather for snap protest in Sydney after Sumud flotilla detained in Gaza

Hundreds of people went to Sydney CBD streets overnight to support people in Sumud Flotilla.

The event organized by members of the Palestinian Action Group was held after the Israeli navy, Greta Thunberg and at least two Australians, including dozens of boats.

“There was a minimum effect on pedestrian or highway traffic in the region,” a police spokesman said.

A video published by Stand4Palestine, a group founded by Hizb UT-Tahrir activists on social media, shows that hundreds of protesters who chant and walk in the center of Sydney on Thursday night.

Hizb UT-Tahrir is listed as a banned terrorist organization in the UK.

The members of the Stand4Palestine Group, who participated in the George Street protest on Thursday night, claimed that they were “closed the street”, including part of the light rail line.

“We closed the railway because the whole world should be closed, free Palestine, as long as the fleet is seized by the invading forces,” he said.

One of the participants of the group said “there was no more rules” and people “cracked”.

“No longer follow the order based on these rules… These people are taking action,” he said.

The group claimed that “Z10N1st (SİC) and its supporters continue their massacres, we will continue to close the streets”.

The Australian Jewish Association, another video sent to social media by the Conservative Jewish community organization, shows protesters that the police are trying to protect the unauthorized march.

The material distributed by the organizers hours before Snap Rally claimed that the protest was to “demand that the Australian government to take action to the release of Sumud Flotilla”.
