Hundreds of extra officers to ‘reassure’ Manchester’s communities

BBCFollowing the deadly synagogue attack on Thursday, hundreds of extra police officers to offer “assurance” on the streets of Manchester.
Vice President Chris Sykes, the Great Manchester Police (GMP) officers have been working 12 -hour shifts and canceled the rest days since the attack, while other forces contributed to the civil servants, he said.
The Conservative Party Conference in Manchester, due to its starting on Sunday, emphasized that its power has “resources” required to secure the Jewish population and other communities of the city.
“We have many officers and staff there – very, very visible,” he said.
“We have extra patrols,” he explained. “So we have normal policing [and put] Too much extra staff to some communities and the city center here. “
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Greater Manchester’s Prime Minister Sir Stephen Watson, Acc Sykes, questioned whether a pro -Palestinian march took place in the city center on Saturday.
“We should think about people who lost their lives there on Thursday, and I think people should think what is appropriate if they use their right to protest.”

GMP admitted that it was given by his colleagues.
“Our officers are really working hard in 12 -hour shifts,” he said. “We canceled the days of resting people, and we brought many civil servants from all over the region and national beings.
“We have many officers in the whole Manchester, not only for those in the city center, but to other communities – especially Jewish communities – to assurance.”

The pro -Palestinian protest initially attracted about 100 supporters except the Manchester Cathedral.
GMP officers intervened when a small counter -protest approached protesters.
Meanwhile, six people were detained after being arrested on suspicion of terrorism on suspicion of terrorism after the attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Community Synagogue in the Crumpsall region of North Manchester.
66 -year -old Melvin Cravitz and 53 -year -old Adrian Daulby, three people were killed while staying in the hospital.
On Friday, the GMP confirmed that Mr. Daulby’s synagogue attacker Jihad al-Shamie was shot by an armed police because they targeted.
A police bullet wounded Yoni Finlay, who was treated in the hospital.
Al-Shamie, a British citizen of the Syrian heritage, was unknown to oppose the police of terrorism, but after being arrested on suspicion of rape, bail.
In connection with the attack, raids were carried out at least three places in Manchester and Bolton.
