Anti-Trump heckler screams ‘leave Greenland alone’ during US national anthem at London NBA game

A man attending an NBA game in London shouted “Leave Greenland alone” while player Vanessa Williams sang the American national anthem before the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic played on Sunday.
Those words drew a round of applause from the crowd as President Donald Trump continued to swing his saber over the island.
Unfazed, Williams finished the song and received applause from basketball fans at the O2.
Trump insisted the US take Greenland, the semi-autonomous region of NATO ally Denmark, and stressed that anything less than full control was ‘unacceptable’. Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers have warned POTUS that an invasion of the country could result in his removal from office.
The comments drew widespread condemnation from European leaders hoping to prevent the split of NATO.
In the joint statement made by Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK, it was stated that they “firmly stand behind” the “principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

The president shocked the military alliance by warning that those who opposed America’s takeover of Danish territory would face punitive tariffs starting February 1.
In a bombshell post on his social media site, Trump said taxes would start at 10 percent and potentially rise to 25 percent if they don’t surrender by June.
But in their joint response this afternoon, European powers said: ‘As NATO members, we are determined to strengthen the security of the Arctic as a common transatlantic interest. Denmark’s previously coordinated Arctic Resilience exercise with the Allies responds to this need. He poses no threat to anyone.
‘We stand in full solidarity with the people of the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland. Building on the process that started last week, we are ready to enter into a dialogue based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity that we stand behind.
‘Tariff threats are undermining transatlantic relations and risk a dangerous decline. We will continue to stand in unity and coordination in our struggle. ‘We are determined to protect our sovereignty.’
