Huyton crash: Tributes to four young men killed after car hit lamppost
A moment of silence has been paid to the four young people who died in a road accident in Merseyside.
Jack Diggle, 23, Benjamin Dooley, 23, Andrew Roberts, 24, and Craig Shackleton-Brady, 26, were pronounced dead at the crash site in Liverpool Road, Huyton, just before 2am on Friday.
The police were called after it was reported that a black Seat Cupra had left the road after hitting a lamppost.
Merseyside Police said the car was traveling from Liverpool towards Knowsley.
All four families released tributes on Sunday.
Mr Shackleton-Brady was described as a “dedicated and loving father” and a “loyal and generous” man to his two children.
“Above all, Craig will be remembered for his good heart, his devotion to his family and the happiness he brought to others,” his family said.
Mr Diggle, a proud Everton supporter, was described by his family as “kind, quiet, thoughtful and loving”.
His mother said: “The loss of Jack has left a void in our lives and hearts that can never be filled. “We will carry him with us every day and miss him for the rest of our lives.
“Our Jack, our gentle giant, we love you beyond words and will forever. Rest in peace my son.”
Mr Dooley’s mother Kerry said his life was “falling apart”. She said her son was the “kindest person” she knew and had a “heart of gold.”
His older sister, Demi, said she felt her brother’s death was like a “horrible dream.”
Mr Roberts’ family said: “Our worlds have been shattered and we are waiting for you to walk through the door saying this was all a dream but it will never come true.
“Life can change in an instant, and Andrew’s passing is a painful reminder of how precious every moment truly is.”
