Hybrid sales accelerate but diesel utes claim top spots

Australian drivers, the country’s automotive sector continued to return to life while in a month jumped behind the wheels of more than 103,000 new vehicles.
On Wednesday, according to the figures published by the Federal Automotive Industries Chamber, SUVs dominated new vehicle sales in August and UTES demanded three of the first five points for the best -selling models.
However, as electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, low-emissions vehicle sales accelerated, the biggest increase in sales compared to last year showed the biggest increase.
Findings follow a record quarter for battery -powered vehicles, which make up 13.1 percent of all new automobile sales, and a way to tax their use comes after a national debate about the introduction of a user fee.
The figures of the Room showed that Australians bought 100,539 new vehicles in August – 2.2 percent or 2211 more vehicles compared to the same month last year.
In addition, Tesla and Polestar only show 3155 sales to the electric vehicle council.
Six of every 10 sales recorded by the room were SUV, because its popularity increased by seven percent during the month, while passenger vehicles fell 12.9 percent.
Low emission vehicles continued to increase in Australia, hybrid vehicle sales increased by four percent throughout the month, and Plug-in hybrid sales increased by 47 percent for August and 155 percent for the year.
Room CEO Tony Weber, the popularity of different types of vehicles spread to different vehicle brands, he said.
“The presence of four Chinese brands in the top 10 shows the continuous evolution of the automotive view in Australia.” He said.
“There is an extraordinary range of vehicles where you can choose from consumers – more than 400 models, including about 100 houses.”
According to the figures of the Chamber and Electric Vehicle Council, electric car sales exceeded 10,000 in August and made up 9.6 percent of all new vehicle sales.
In August, the popular electricity models included Tesla Model Y (2324 Sales), Byd Sealion 7 (1413 Sales), Geely EX5 (401) and Byd Seal (623).
The rise of more energy -saving vehicles underlined Australia’s need for a road user accusation, Weber said, ultimately, it can be “all kinds of vehicles” and can replace gasoline and diesel taxes.
“As the number of electric vehicles increases, governments should support a smooth transition away from fuel consumption.” He said.
“To support the path and charging infrastructure, a way to provide a permanent income flow is needed.”
UTES claimed that the top two areas on the list of the most popular vehicles sold in August were at the top.
SUVs filled six of the top 10 places led by Toyota’s Rav4 hybrid, while Toyota Corolla represented the only passenger vehicle on the list.
