Hydraa Reclaims Rs 100-Crore Government Land

Hyderabad: HYDRAA cleared encroachments and fenced 1.30 acres of government land at Petbasheerabad in Quthbullapur mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Friday. The land forms part of 38.15 acres in Survey No. 25/2 allotted to journalists’ housing society under the jurisdiction of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), officials said.
HYDRAA had earlier fenced the 36.25 acres to prevent encroachments. The remaining 1.3 acres were owned by St Ann’s High School, which used it as a sports field. The school administration had requested time until the end of the academic year to vacate the land.
Since the compound wall was not removed after the academic year, HYDRAA demolished the structure on Friday, fenced the land and installed hoardings stating that it was government property. The market value of the 1.30-acre plot is estimated at over Rs 100 crore, officials said.
