Two teenagers killed in M1 crash after car leaves bridge

Two young people died when the car they were traveling in went off the bridge and crashed into a minibus on the highway below.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at 1.33pm on Friday following reports that a blue car traveling on Gilmorton Lane towards Lutterworth, Leicestershire, had crashed off the road bridge onto the M1 motorway.
A Leicestershire Police spokesman said the car also collided with a white Fiat Ducato traveling southbound on the M1.
It was determined that the two people in the blue vehicle, both young people, died at the scene.
The driver and 4 people in the minibus, including 3 women, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver has been discharged and the women remain in hospital, Leicestershire police said on Friday.

Leicestershire Police are appealing for anyone who was driving on Gilmorton Lane or junction 20 on the M1 at around 1.30pm on Friday to get in touch.
Anyone with dashcam footage or who was driving either vehicle before the collision is asked to contact police.
