I-T Deptt Asks Taxpayers To Ignore ‘Significant Transaction’ Alert On Email

New Delhi: The Income Tax department on Saturday asked taxpayers to ignore emails warning taxpayers regarding ‘important transaction’ under the Down Payment Tax e-campaign. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), in a post published on (Fiscal Year 2025-26).

CBDT said, “We are actively working to resolve this issue in coordination with our service provider. In the meantime, we request taxpayers to disregard the earlier email communication regarding the AY 2026-27 (Fiscal Year 2025-26) Advance Tax e-Campaign.” he said.

March 15 is the last day for payment of the fourth installment of provisional tax for the financial year 2025-26.

He further explained that these communications are intended as facilitating reminders to enable taxpayers to review relevant financial information available on the Compliance Portal and, where appropriate, to ensure appropriate advance tax compliance.

Taxpayers are advised to verify transaction details through the e-Campaign tab in the Compliance Portal, accessible through the e-Filing portal.
